Happy New Year - May all your turnings come out just exactly as you
envisioned them.
Visitors – Welcome, we are glad to have you
here. Make yourself at home. If you have questions the officers will be glad to
help you and ask any member who they are.
Membership - It is
time to renew your membership. See Bill Holmes, secretary. The dues new for
2007 are $36.00 and can be paid by cash or check. Please only pay once J.
Help Wanted - We are looking for an Assistant News Letter Editor
to assist Peggy Ross. We also need
someone to take photos at the meetings. Please see me at the break if you can
help.
Club and Workshop Demo
Days - Our June 9, 2007 Club Meeting/Demo has been finalized to bring
Frank Penta in as our demonstrator.
Frank will be demonstrating his “Multi-Axis Platter” which
he has presented at the past two SWAT Symposiums and has been extremely well
received.
As previously discussed, Frank will be conducting two
one-day workshops on June 7th and 8th at Paul Coppinger’s shop
in
We will require advance payment for the workshop days by
March 10, 2007. Attendees will be
limited to the first 16 members to pay and sign up. At this time the list is quickly filling
up. The fee for each workshop day will
be $100.00 with wood, drinks and lunch provided.

Christmas Party - The Steering Committee voted to have a Christmas
Party at our regular meeting and place in December. Spouses are invited. Finger
foods will be provided and we will have an Instant Gallery for lots of
turnings. More to come as we get near the end of the year.

etc.) changes please let Bill Holmes or Ed Heuslein know so we can keep our
records current.
Back to Basics – We
will have a back to basics session on February 17 from 9:00 AM to 2:00
PM This is a hands on turning session,see Cecil Cox, Vice-president for details
and to sign up to purchase a lunch.
By-Laws – Tom
Crosby is chairing a committee to review the By-Laws in total to recommend any
changes that need to be made. Serving on this committee are Ed Heuslein and
John Stroud.

AAW in August
launched a new online Members Only area. Due to problems AAW has suspended the
system till its problems can be fixed.
Anchor Seal is available today. Price is $7.00 for a gallon and
$14.00 for 2 gallons. During the cold weather months when the temperature on
Friday night before and on Saturday morning of the meeting is at or below
freezing Anchor Seal will not be available as it freezes.
Mentors – Charles Brooks has returned to the mentor
list. L.V. Filak, Walter Tate, and Mark Anthony are new mentors. Welcome
gentlemen. Please call upon them for help when you need it. By the way the
mentor program is basically a one on one approach. Classes of three or more can
be conducted by mentors when needed. See Cecil Cox to get a class started.
